Big 40K fan and have many of the novels. This one was better then others and opens up a rather undeveloped section of the 40K universe by falling the Arbites. You can find many books on the guard, space marines, and many alien races. This is about the only book I have come across that explores the world of being an Arbite trying to keep law and order of the Imperium. I'll admit I am more of a guard fan such as Gaunt's Ghosts and Ciaphas Cain but this was a worthwhile experience and gives an insightful look at the less noticed cogs that keep the Imperium together.
I'm having fun reading through 40k novels, mainly through omnibuses and this was one I hadn't gotten yet. This was seriously one that I shouldn't have bothered with.
The first book in there was excellent, I thought I might have finally found something to beat the Eisenhorn omnibus but that last two books ended up worse than the Ravenor omnibus. Quite frankly, if you can find it cheaper, buy the first novel in the series "Crossfire" and forget the other two. I was impressed enough with it that if the others turned out to be a bit above half-arsed this was a five star book.
